Splenic lymphangioma is relatively rare condition and usually presents as a solitary lesion in the spleen; however, in children, it occurs as a part of systemic lymphangiomatosis. Most patients are asymptomatic and are incidentally diagnosed. A variety of imaging modalities have been used for diagnosis and a CT scan has been advocated as the preoperative imaging modality of choice. The treatment for symptomatic splenic lymphangioma is a splenectomy, and it can be performed with a by laparotomy or laparoscopy. The laparoscopic splenectomy is considered as the treatment of choice for benign splenic tumors, due to various advantageous features such as less invasiveness, a short hospital stay, and superior cosmesis. We report our experience of two cases of splenic lymphangioma that were successfully treated with a laparoscopic splenectomy.
